| Kyonshiizu 2 | Taito | 1987 | Kyonshiizu 2 is based on the rather silly HongKong martial arts/horror/comedy movie-series "Mr. Vampire" and not a sequel to another game. The goal is to defeat several evil demons which are hidden in some towers around a city. In the city itself you are talking to people, buy stuff. All with the goal to receive a costume with which you can enter the evil realms inside the towers. The action sequences are side-scrolling beat'em up sequences. Since there is no translation of this game available it is hardly playable for non-Japanese people. From the bit I have played and seen on videos the game does not look promising and I wonder what the 2Mbit on the cartridge were used for. The adventure/RPG part of the game seems to be ok, but nearly only takes place around the same town. The action sequences are not well playable and features only a very limited number of enemies. All the towers are graphically the same again and again. Rating the game is hard due to the language-barrier, but even if a fan translation and proper walkthrough should appear some day I will likely not go back to this game.***The cartridge has a battery door to replace the Save RAM battery when it eventually dies.***In this game you wander around a town, talk to people and buy stuff like in a typical RPG. But then you have to get through beat'em up style sections, fighting against enemies. It´s really hard to understand what´s going on if you don´t know Japanese.
